At OIS speech is a big thing. We are given options to write and talk about such as are we for or against push play? school uniforms? food labels? or we could choose our own topic.
We are marked on many things such as confidence, eye contact, knowledge and all the normal things to look for in a speech. We were given two weeks to form a speech and before we knew it we were up in front of the class presenting our thoughts on our topic.
Two students from each class who the teachers thought were great at speaking were sent through to the school Year 8 speech finals. Yesterday we listened to them. All of them were great but four were amazing , as there was a first equal which made it very intense for the other competitors.
Placings were: 1st= William R11, Luke R17, 2nd: Jahana R17, Tannah R6
