Drugs, alcohol abuse and cigarettes- it’s a hard and difficult life choice not to mention stupid, that’s why Constable Carrie Hamilton has been teaching us how to avoid this situation. At the end of our topic the Y8’s presented some role plays to the rest of the school. Up went Room 13 with their freaky professor telling us about cigarettes. Then Room 17 pulled of a cool dance about being proud to be you. Room 9 took that smoking ad to a whole new level. Fourth to be up was room 11, talking about the effects of smoking on their own winning wheel, although the prizes made it seem like a losing wheel! Second to last was Room 6 sharing about how to be assertive. Then last but not least was Room 3 telling us about the side effects of embolic steroids. All in all a great assembly presented by Oamaru Intermediate School. If you want to hear more about this report please comment us on the things you want to know.
